Come Fly a Kite

Tune: On Top of Old Smokey

Oh, come fly a kite,

way up in the sky.

Watch it climb so far

up, up in the sky.

Oh, come fly a kite,

and just watch it sail,

Across the sky,

Waving its tail.

My Kite

Tune: The Farmer in the Dell

My kite is up so high,

My kite is up so high,

Oh my - - just watch it fly

My kite is up so high.

My kite is falling down,

My kite is falling down,

Oh no - - it's down so low

My kite is falling down.

The wind has caught my kite,

The wind has caught my kite,

What fun - - I'm on the run

The wind has caught my kite.

My kite is up so high,

My kite is up so high,

Oh my - - just watch it fly

My kite is up so high.

Craft Instructions:

1. Glue the Popsicle sticks on the edge of the diamond paper for your kite

2. Glue or tape the streamers so that they hang off the bottom corner of your kite.

3. Decorate the face of your kite.

4. Hang up and let it fly in the wind.

Extra play Idea:

·        Make simple Cloud Dough to play with while you watch your kites fly near the clouds. Combine 2 heaping cups of corn starch and 1 cup conditioner. Mix together until they get hard, then place into a Ziploc bag and knead until it is fully blended.
